How to Get a Forklift License

  1. Enroll in a training course at the training school. If you are employed, your employer should provide you the training you need. It is the employer's sole responsibility to supply the training to the workers.
  2. Attend the classroom lectures that will last for 4 to 6 hours. 
  3. Complete the hands-on training. In this part of the course, you will be driving the forklift, maneuvers it and accomplishes sets of instructions.
  4. Take the written test and trainer evaluation. 
  5. You will receive your certification and license card if you’re successful.
  6. The license is valid for three years.

Forklift Operator Training Requirements

  • You must be 18 years old and above
  • Literate to make computation and literate to understand instruction;
  • Driving license may be required
  • Must be a high school graduate or in possession of a GED certificate
  • Physically fit
